Named after 20mg extended release adderal (which I’ve had a…personal…relationship with for sometime) 20Xr is more like an instant release in length. 6 records, all stand alone singles that weren’t able to land on either of the two projects I’ve been working on for the past few years. The earliest of these records; ‘IDC’ prod. By Hansolo Beats was started in 2019 and finished sometime in 2020 (it took me the longest time to think of the last 4 bars).
Around the same few months I wrapped the entire E.P with the last record ‘What Are You On?’ Feat. Shaq G (I had this one for a while too but didn’t get the Shaq verse until recently, also the only song I produced on this E.P). ‘Loosie’ prod. By Gameboicoloured I wrote after being bored one night during the very beginning of lockdown so I decided to pop a 20mg for the fuck of it and this is what came out of it (wrote and recorded in the same night). ‘WYGD’ prod. By Bombs215 was actually supposed to land on the follow up to F.A.T.E but didn’t end up fitting sonically. I actually wrote that record on a tab and a half of acid. One of the best trips I ever had but strangely the least amount of visuals I’ve ever seen. At one point though everyone who was trippin went to sit on the porch right after it rained and the train station near the crib, the street and everything looked like NewYork City in ‘I am Legend’. I had that beat playing for 11 hours as I went back and forth from writing and chillin with everyone down stairs.
‘Vacation’ prod. By SK808 I wrote either after or toward the end of my first serious relationship. There’s a bio floating around on that one already and my verse is pretty self explanatory but it’s definitely my poppiest record to date and means a lot to me. I learned a lot from that relationship and writing that song. ‘Mosh’ prod.by IHATEYOUSHEED is one of my favorite records on here. I’ve had that beat probably since 2018 and it took me a minute to put something to it but man I can’t wait to perform that one live (technically already did it once but there’s no footage).
I think this is the most fun solo project I’ve ever released. All slappers and hits back to back in a bite sized form, staying true to myself and experimentation however pretty damn accessible. Although short the release it self has been extended. Starting with Vacation in November 2021 each song is and will be pushed as a stand alone single until I decide to drop.
